PLAFAM (IPPF)
Collaboration between Venezuela through PLAFAM and ICA Foundation began in 2016 with an initial donation of 500 LNG IUS devices, and until today in total 13.000 LNG IUS have been donated. Asociatión Civil de Planificación Familiar (PLAFAM) is part of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) of the Western Hemisphere Region.
PLAFAM is recognized as a pioneer in advocacy and delivery of sexual and reproductive health services in Venezuela. In 2013, they provided over half a million services, including gynecological care, contraceptives, gender-based violence screening, and STI preventation, testing, and treatment. PLAFAM works to ensure its staff are sensitive to the needs of youth clients and provides low-cost services for young people at its clinics.
