Makerere University Medical School
The partnership between the ICA Foundation and the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Makerere University and Mulago National Referral and Teaching Hospital in Kampala, Uganda began in 2007. To date, 2.300 LNG IUS have been donated. LNG IUS is urgently needed in Uganda because of it’s contraceptive efficacy. Fertility rate in Uganda is among the highest in the world. The team at Makerere/Mulago ensures continous training of family planning providers. The network of Family Planning centres also ensures continuos use of LNG IUS.
