Sihanouk Hospital Center of Hope / AmeriCares
AmeriCares is an international disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization that provides immediate response to emergency medical needs and supports long-term humanitarian assistance programs around the world. As part of a global collaboration with the ICA Foundation, AmeriCares and its partner, Hope Worldwide, have worked together to provide high-quality free medical care at Sihanouk Hospital Center of Hope (SHCH) in Phnom Penh and Sonja Kill Memorial Hospital in Kampot. Since the initial donation in 2012, Americares has incorporated in total 850 units of LNG IUS devices, available for distribution into existing family planning services and satellite women’s centers in these two supported facilities, serving hundreds of patients per day and addressing women’s health needs ranging from pregnancy-risk pathologies to heavy menstrual bleeding.
