The ICA Foundation Mourns the Passing of Klaus Brill

(5 March 2025)

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Klaus Brill, former Chairman of the ICA Foundation Board of Trustees, in January, 2025.

In December 2003, Klaus Brill contributed to the establishment of the ICA Foundation and was later nominated as Chairman of the Board in March 2004 when the Foundation was officially registered. Klaus served as Chairman of the ICA Foundation Board for 14 years until his retirement in 2018. Klaus, a senior executive at Schering and then Bayer, was a passionate champion of the LNG IUS and the ICA Foundation.

During his tenure on the Board, ICA donations grew from 3,800 to 21,500 annually (a 500%+ increase), and the ICA Foundation began lasting and consequential partnerships with the Campinas Reproductive Health Research Center (State University of Campinas, Brazil), Rotary International (Nigeria), and many other organizations.  When Klaus retired from the Board, the Foundation had projects in 27 countries. His legacy continues to shape our growing Foundation and continued successes.

At our November 2024 meeting, while celebrating the Foundation’s 20th anniversary, the Board toasted Klaus, who was so integral to the growth and development of the ICA Foundation.  He was a fierce champion for women’s health, and we will miss him very much.
