Wuqu' Kawoq

Founded in 2007, and based in Santiago Sacatepéquez, the Maya Health Alliance (Alianza Maya para El Salud) is a health organization providing services in Mayan languages. More than half of all Guatemalans speak a Mayan language, but the health care system in Guatemala does not serve them. Wuqu? Kawoq is comprised of a diverse team of physicians, nurses, anthropologists, linguists, teachers, nutritionists, engineers, public health practitioners, lawyers, designers, accountants, entrepreneurs, and community health workers, a global team with local expertise.

The ICA Foundation's partnership with Wuqu' Kawoq began in 2017 with an initial shipment of 200 units.
